World-class Music, Intimate Performances and Unique Iconic Peninsula Places best encapsulates the Peninsula Summer Music Festival.
In it’s 8th year, the festival has evolved into a major event on the Mornington Peninsula calendar. It is recognised for imaginative programming that assembles leading Australian and International artists, and celebrates the Region’s fine wines, produce and beautiful scenery.
Between 01 and 11 January 2015 over seventy five leading artists will present intimate performances in some of the Peninsula’s most unique and iconic places and this will include the finest classical, early chamber music, jazz, cabaret and world music.
The program begins on New Year’s Day with the most popular event the Hair of the Dog in the spectacular Barrel Room at Willow Creek Vineyard. Other highlights include the headline act, the fabulous Meow Meow in a special cabaret performance, and an inaugural Garden Party that will provide an occasion to soak up the atmosphere at of one of the Peninsula’s most stunning grand-estate homes – Bibury at Main Ridge.
This year’s Festival also features three spellbinding guitar performances including Vikingo de Jerez and his gypsy inspired flamenco at the Willow Creek Vinyard, from Italy classical guitarist Massimo Scattolin will present a nature-inspired program in the stunning surrounds of Hummingbird Eco Retreat, and top it off one of the world’s greatest guitar duos, the Grigoryan Brothers will display their virtuosity on the lawns of St Johns Flinders.
Every year the Festival entertains and delights over 3,000 people of all ages as they enjoy inspirational music from some of the country’s best musicians among some of the finest backdrops the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. This is a chance for culture seekers, music lovers, holiday makers, friends and families to get together for some fantastic entertainment for the day, the weekend or the entire festival.
