It’s summertime at Main Ridge Dairy, the season for their award winning hard cheeses – called Caprinella & Capony. This time of year the milk volume from the goats generally drops as feed hardens.

Like all things from this award winning dairy, good planning and care prevails and due to the great cut of silage this year (harvested on the farm) the girls are well fed through summer which keeps them happy. Happy goats means wholesomely yummy cheese! As a visitor to Main Ridge Dairy you can enjoy a cold drink, fresh coffee with a treat or you go straight to the heart of the experience and taste award winning cheese products made with love on site – with a glass of locally produced wine. You can do this from the deck where you can also take in the serene views that have been enhanced by Bess & Damien’s hard work and which includes planting more than 6000 indigenous plants in shelter belts. The property is registered under the Land for Wildlife Scheme and their land management efforts have also seen them win awards.
