Diamond Bay is a stunning ocean beach framed by towering sandstone cliffs. Its extensive rock platforms make it a popular surf fishing spot, offering more shelter than other coastal areas. The beach sits at the base of 30-meter-high bluffs, fronted by a reef and rocky surf zone.

Access is via Diamond Bay Road, leading to a small car park, with a walking track and steep staircase down to the shore.

Scenic cliff-top walks stretch from Cape Schanck to Portsea. From Diamond Bay, head east to St Paul’s Lookout for sweeping views over the Bay of Islands, or west to Jubilee Point for vistas back to Sorrento.

The area contains significant Aboriginal midden sites—please stay on designated tracks to help protect them.
