There’s nothing we love more than getting off the beaten track. Yabby Lake is one of these destinations – as are many of the Mornington Peninsula gems – tucked away and hidden from the main stream. It’s located on your left as you approach the Balnarring exit (off the Peninsula Link).
These days, running a restaurant let alone winery on the Pen is highly competitive, with so many wonderful options on offer. It’s no longer just about offering great food and wine but rather the stories and experience behind the vineyard, and Yabby Lake has this in abundance. Is it exceptional hand crafted wines passed from winemaker to cellar door you are looking for? Is it a relaxed lunch venue surrounded by warm recycled timbers, industrial-style steel fixtures, polished concrete floors and voluminous beamed ceilings that frame large glass windows showcasing a spectacular setting? Is it the ability to roam outside, in between courses to breath in fresh maritime air? Is it true, warm hospitality? Yabby Lake is renowned for its special wines, but when you visit, you will also discover the passion and generous hospitality of their team who make you feel right at home. From our perspective, it is these elements and others that make Yabby Lake thrive. To us Yabby Lake is a blessing and a great place to stop and smell the roses – or the pinot, or some lunch, or get lost in its amazing collection of artwork. Really we could go on, but it’s easier to just go and experience it for yourself.
