Wellbeing

There are many professional services on the Mornington Peninsula that dedicate their lives to making people comfortable, happy and healthy. Cat Stevens once said that “communal well-being is central to human life”. It’s this ethos that drives many on the Pen and we hope that by highlighting the achievements and services of this special group of people that it will serve as inspiration to strive for a more balanced wellbeing.

MP Skin Check

It's not a stretch to say that we're all familiar with the "slip, slop, slap" message; however, new research says the risk of skin damage under the sun's rays must be taken more seriously. In a world-first study, researchers from the ANU and NZIWAR found that, on average, regions like the Mornington Peninsula and cities like Melbourne only experienced two days a year where there wasn't enough UV to get sun damage. Two days! They found that even if the UV index is low and if you're outside for more than 15 minutes... you're at risk. Making sure you prioritise a skin check is just as important as a health check.
