From the moment you drive into Ocean Eight you are guided by a feeling of symmetry – you can’t help but sense that the people behind this project must be operating on a supreme level in order to have achieved such grandiosity.
It’s only after you walk around this property you come to appreciate its simplicity & sophistication; these two elements runs through the entire project from the gardens, architecture, cellar & fine wines, to the way it’s sits into the side of the hill just off Tucks Road, Shoreham. Chris & Gail Aylward began Ocean Eight in 2005 with their son Mike & together with viticulturist Luke O’Connor have turned their committed obsessions into a standout experience on the Mornington Peninsula.
Their wines are made in small quantities to ensure high quality and a focused style, their cellar door is as grand as it is intimate and the perfect place to drink exceptional wines with an accompaniment of fine cheeses. A not so well known aspect however are the Ocean Eight gardens that provide the final touch – a decadent contrast.
