Biji Dining

Something unique happened the other night in Red Hill South. We stumbled upon a dining pop-up that, apart from having incredibly delicious food, blew us away because it was so humble, imaginative, and authentic. It reminded us of days when things were a lot simpler, yet the food was far from that; it has such a sophistication, where the flavours of each meal took you on a journey far away.

Peninsula Piers And Pinots

Mornington Peninsula is uniquely situated with 3 breezes delivered via Port Phillip Bay, Western Port and Bass Strait. The effect creates ideal conditions for the region's pinots - wines with outstanding flavors, balanced natural acidity and fine tannins. This event has been held annually on the Sunday of the Victorian Labour Day long weekend, since 2002 and is a very popular wine event.

Merricks General Store

Back in the days before impersonal supermarkets and oversized shopping centres, the humble general store was a community hub, a place that served an important social, as well as supply, service. In 1924, Merricks General Wine Store opened to serve a variety of needs of the local community. Built in a prime location on Hastings-Flinders Road, between Balnarring and Shoreham, it was a central point where locals could stock up on household items as well post mail, make phone calls at the phone booth, do banking and fill the petrol tank – a one-stop shop with friendly, familiar faces.
